The Commis 2 in the heartist cafeteria is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of meals for the staff ensuring a high standard of food hygiene and safety and supporting the kitchen team in daily operations. This role is integral in maintaining the quality and consistency of food served to staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes as directed by senior chefs.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and taste.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
Kitchen Operations:
- Support the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff in various tasks.
- Help with inventory management including receiving and storing supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen areas before and after meal service.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper handling storage and disposal of food.
- Maintain high standards of personal and kitchen hygiene.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in a kitchen with bulk food production is preferred.
- Well versed in Continental and Asian cuisine.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
