PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our team specializing in Offshore Projects within the Oil & Gas industry. The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations implementing safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety across offshore facilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop implement and maintain safety programs policies procedures and guidelines for offshore projects.
- Conduct risk assessments hazard identification and safety audits to mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Provide technical guidance on safetyrelated matters to project teams including engineers contractors and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents accidents and nearmisses and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Participate in project planning and design reviews to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project execution.
- Conduct safety training sessions and workshops for personnel involved in offshore operations.
- Review and approve contractor safety plans and ensure adherence to safety standards during construction commissioning and operation phases.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections to demonstrate compliance with safety regulations.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering preferably in Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g. OSHA API RP 14C ISO 45001).
- Experience in conducting risk assessments incident investigations and safety audits.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across disciplines.
- Professional certifications in safety management (e.g. CSP CMIOSH) preferred but not required.
