Responsibilities
The Network Security Specialist role requires the ability to perform the below activities:
- Collaborating with the Security Operations Centre, Information Security governance team, IT governance team and business unit stakeholders on the design, deployment and management of core security infrastructure.
- Develop and execute delivery plans in collaboration with wider Cyber Security and Enterprise Architecture teams to implement security tools and capabilities.
- Collaborate with Information security teams to understand and mitigate the security and availability risk.
- Ensure the deployment of security tools is achieved with the minimum of impact to business.
- Review the Changes on IT infrastructure and ensuring all changes are performed as per the security policies.
- Work with the Technology development and network teams to implement appropriate security solutions and tools based on the level of risk identified.
- Establish clear understanding and documentation of processes related to network security infrastructure.
- Managing and addressing escalations related to network security operations deliverables
- Reviewing HLD, LLD, run books, SOP & Handover Check lists related to Network and Security deployments.
- Experience in managing Security Devices and Technologies such as Firewalls, WAF, IPS/IDS, Authentication Services, VPN, MPLS, LTM, Packet Broker, Proxy.
- Review the Security Architecture and IT Disaster Recovery Setup.
- Support in implementation of PKI Infrastructure.
- Post Implementation Review of changes on Security Devices.
- Support the technology integration and implementation of security controls, hardening of IT and Security Devices.
- Assist in IT and Security Incidence resolution and CSIRT table tops exercise.
- Review Periodic Health Checks on Security Tools.
- Leverage security automation tooling and develop playbooks and workflows based on operational use cases
- Maintain detailed knowledge of emerging threats, risks, technical innovations and security capabilities.
- Experience working in a Security Engineering or Security Operations capacity within an enterprise organization
- Detailed understanding of vulnerability management within IT hardware and software operating system layers to include hardening, patching, anti-virus, APT, DDOS
- Knowledge of NIST and/or ISO 27001 security frameworks.
- Knowledge of Cloud Security technologies
- Ability to generate high quality accessible solution documentation.
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelors or master’s degree in technology or related field.
- Security specialist certifications such as CISCO SCOR, Azure/AWS security specialist
- 10+ years of Security Architecture, Security Operations, Security solutions implementation experience.
- Working for a Security Operations in large Enterprise is an added plus.
- Proven ability to manage Security Operations in collaboration with various internal teams and external entities such as system integration vendors and enterprise security specialist.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a strong interest in IT applications and operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Must be a critical thinker, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must possess Excellent Reporting Skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
- Solid knowledge of Security Architecture, High Availability concepts, and Network Architecture Concepts.
- A practical and proactive problem-solver who possesses strong business acumen and is confident, mature, and calm.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction self-starter/self-motivated
- Willingness and aptitude to learn new programming languages and new development tooling.
- Create detailed report of findings and recommendations after testing is complete and present to stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date in current tools, techniques, and vulnerabilities to incorporate into testing practices.
- Good understanding of PCI DSS, NESA, SOC and GDPR security guidelines.
- Good hands-on experience in ITSM tools such as Service Now
