Legal Counsel Maritime Services

• Provides legal counsel and advice to the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel with regard to maritime and offshore commercial, corporate and transactional matters as and when required or assigned, including joint ventures, investments, mergers, acquisitions, incorporations, dissolutions and liquidations. Additionally, assists to advise on disputes relating to such matters.
• Drafts, reviews, interprets and amends legal opinions, agreements, letters, memos, submissions and any other relevant documents related to the business, projects or transactions related to maritime and offshore matters for ADNOC L&S.
• Assists the the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel in providing the legal functions of ADNOC L&S particularly in development and implementation of common legal practices and joint strategies .
• Attends internal ADNOC L&S committees and meetings, as and when required.
• Assists with external legal counsel services related relevant contractual advice, contract disputes, including review of external legal counsel work product, preparation of request for proposals and instructing external legal counsel.
• Coordinates with the Corporate Governance Department on corporate governance matters related to contracts and transactions.
• Coordinates with the Compliance Department on compliance matters related to contracts and transactions.
• Provides legal advice and services to the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel to ensure that its maritime and offshore commercial and corporate activities are conducted in compliance with applicable law and regulations.
• Assists in advising on all ADNOC L&S disputes (whether in court, arbitration or other form of dispute resolution) relating to maritime and offshore contracts .
• Performs other similar duties as assigned by the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel.
  

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law .
• At least 5 years of relevant experience preferably in top international law / consultancy firms and/or local or international blue-chip corporate/s. Ideally some relevant in-house experience
• Experience in Shipping/Maritime/Logistics industry .
• Excellent English language (written and spoken).
