Job Description
- Teaching and Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective biology lessons in accordance with the IGCSE curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and achievement.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress regularly through assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Curriculum Development:
- Participate in the development and revision of the biology curriculum to ensure alignment with IGCSE standards.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and projects.
- Student Support and Development:
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Identify and address the learning needs of students, offering additional help and enrichment opportunities as needed.
- Prepare students thoroughly for the IGCSE biology examinations, including organizing revision sessions and mock exams.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a disciplined and productive classroom environment.
- Enforce school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Manage classroom resources and equipment effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and usage.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in biology education.
- Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and school events as required.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support school initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the school.
