Job Description

Job duties:

  • Process Assumption Applications: Receive assumption request applications, prepare preliminary paperwork, and inspect file documents to ensure completeness.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting: Forward assumption applications to the Underwriting department for approval.
  • Manage Deed Changes: Process the addition and removal of borrowers from deeds when changes in ownership occur. Ensure supporting documentation for deed transfers is received and complete.
  • Prepare Correspondence: Use templates to prepare letters and other correspondence to request missing documents, confirm receipt of information, or communicate with applicants.
  • Handle Deed Transfers: Process deed transfers, send notices to applicants regarding approval or denial, and update the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Report.
  • Create Loan Assumption Agreements: Send new Loan Assumption Agreements for recording once an assumption is approved.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow procedures to ensure compliance with internal business standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including disclosure requirements.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Offer support during audits and assist department members as needed.
  • Manage Communication Channels: Answer the Assumptions Department email inbox and phone line, providing prompt and accurate responses.
  • Maintain Loan Files: Scan documents into the loan file using Blitz or similar systems.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the department.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industry experience in Mortgage or Financial Services
  • Ability to meticulously review documents and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with applicants, internal teams, and regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations related to mortgage and loan assumptions.
  • Proficiency in document scanning and loan management software.

Compensation

  • $22.00-23.00/hour based on experience
  • Contract position for 3+ months

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Office is located in Mission Valley
