Responsibilities
As our Accounts Payable Specialist, you will
- Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring that all invoices are accurately coded, matched, and processed in a timely manner.
- Perform weekly check runs, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries, assisting in the monthly close process.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any invoice or payment-related issues.
- Maintain and update vendor files, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and processes to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the accounts payable function.
- Comply with all financial policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will have
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role, preferably in the Non-Profit industry.
- Proficiency in coding and matching invoices, preparing journal entries, performing check runs, and conducting account reconciliations.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
