Job Description

Time Out Group is looking for a talented energetic socialsavvy Editor to deliver exciting engaging content across Time Out Abu Dhabi s digital social and print products. You must be passionate about storytelling and editorial innovation enthusiastic about unearthing the best experiences in the UAE capital and have a track record of producing high quality media products especially in the digital space. This role is based in Abu Dhabi.



Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the overall production execution and management of Time Out Abu Dhabi s social digital print and events products in the city.
  • Deliver audience and engagement growth across Time Out Abu Dhabi s digital and social channels.
  • Plan write edit and proof content ensuring everything published is executed in line with Time Out s SEO and social strategies.
  • Pitch and write content covering a wide range of topics and formats on a daily basis from short news posts to indepth features fun bestof listicles to comprehensive listings directories.
  • Work to ensure Time Out is the first to break news of happenings within the brand s remit quickly identifying subjects topics and events that will make compelling content pieces and making sure they re executed in line with our overall brand strategy.
  • Regularly post and create content which may include sponsored or offerbased content to social media.
  • Work to create successful video content relevant to your products be ready to jump frontofcamera when required.
  • Work with the Head of Content and wider Time Out GCC team to populate an editorial calendar. Keep it current identifying commercial and audience opportunities within it and communicating them to other teams.
  • Work with Time Out GCC s Head of Content to ensure ALL content reflects the group s overall editorial strategy and meets brand guidelines.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with Time Out s sales team.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the local scene; use your professional contacts and socialmedia networks to be the first to identify the next big thing.
  • Embrace Time Out s digitalfirst philosophy. A strong background in digital publishing is absolutely essential.
  • Act as an effective brand ambassador for Time Out in the market.
  • Occasionally undertake reviews and attend events outside of normal business hours.

  • Excellent grasp and understanding of SEO best practice.
  • Data driven and excited by analytics.
  • Highest standard of accuracy and attention to detail proficient in subediting and proofing.

  • The ability to write copy in line with highest digital editorial standards.
  • Is excited by the challenge of lastminute projects.

  • Software: WordPress GA4 (essential); Adobe Creative Suite (desirable).
  • Languages: Written and spoken English essential Arabic desirable.
