Job Description

To maintain on a day-to-day basis the Operational Standards of the company as agreed by the General Manager.

b) To take the necessary action to maximise within his/her range of responsibility both the revenue and the profit in order to exceed the operational budget in his/her department.

c) To support other departments by internal cross selling attitude.

d) To maintain careful control over costs in his/her department (payroll, supplies, etc.).

e) To ensure the hotel inside and out in his/her area is maintained in excellent condition, whilst ensuring Repair & Maintenance expenses are kept under budget. Monitor maintenance request procedure to ensure staff compliance and engineering efficiency.

f) To maintain standards of appearance and hygiene of all staff under his/her control, especially uniforms.

g) To effectively handle all guest complaints concerning his/her area, taking corrective action to prevent recurrence and convert the guest into a repeat customer.

h) Ensure all Operational Standards and internal policies are complete and kept up-to-date at all times.

i) Assist the General Manager in the preparation of the Annual Budget and the Investment Plan (Re-placements/Investments/Projects).

j) In the absence of the General Manager assumes control of hotel operations. Under normal operating conditions, other major Department Heads (e.g. F&B Manager / Rooms Division Manager) will maintain control over their operational area, when on property.

Assists GM in reviewing and evaluating the hotel operation on periodic basis and with proper professional assistance executes a plan to ensure highest possible standard in efficiency and guest experience.

l) Deputises the General Manager in his/her absence.

m) Deals with the day-to-day operational priorities of the hotel and leads the daily briefing with the Department Heads.

n) Establishes on regular basis in advance the schedule/rotation of the Duty Managers.

o) Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.

p) Assume responsibility of Duty Manager when scheduled to do so.

q) Conducts skills/technical training within his/her area of responsibility on regular basis.

Generic Aspects on Hygiene / Personal Safety / Environment/Confidentiality:
• Ensure proper care of all equipment and furniture entrusted for Heartists use.
• Be well-familiar with the hotel's policies and procedures, well-acquainted with the physical layout of the hotel and its premises and knowledgeable of the hotel's emergency procedures in regard to fire, medical, bomb threat, black-out and evacuation.
• Knows the safety regulations and ensures their application & ensures the safety of people and property in the hotel.
• Respects and ensures respect of the hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" of Planet 21 program (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc).
• Understands and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Heartists Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
• Ensure that confidential records and other confidential information are properly safeguarded and are not removed from the office.
• Does not disclose any financial information or any other information of the Accor Hotels.
