Franklin Templeton is setting up a new entity in the UAE to be regulated by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) leading to the creation of a registered Compliance Officer & MLRO position. The position will be a part of the larger EMEA Compliance team of the Franklin Templeton group. The team specialises in regulatory compliance across jurisdictions with primary focus on asset management. Working with Franklin Templeton provides an opportunity to collaborate with global experts shaping local fund structures and gaining exposure to strategic projects across the region.

The role will also require the individual to spend a considerable proportion of time in supporting the activities carried out by Franklin Templeton across the region including its DIFC operations leading to being a regional subject matter expert.

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic proactive thinking individual who will ideally have a sound working knowledge of the SCA and DFSA regulatory framework within the asset management industry.

How You Will Add Value

Core Responsibilities

• Fulfil Compliance Officer MLRO & Risk Officer responsibilities for the UAE entity.

• Maintain a robust compliance framework in line with regulatory requirements and market practice.

• Advise senior management and staff on compliance laws and standards.

• Develop and deliver compliance training and coordinate with HR and Risk teams.

• Develop and maintain written compliance and risk policies.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Advise on development of new products processes establishment of new business and client relationships Implement and report on risk monitoring programmes.

• Develop strong partnerships with the business units

• Build strategic relationships with regulators industry bodies and compliance peers.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role

Experience Education & Certifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

• 5 years experience in financial services compliance.

• SCA accreditations in UAE Financial Rules and Financial Crime.

Technical & Soft Skills

• Deep knowledge of SCA/DFSA regulations.

• Strong understanding of financial services industry specifically asset management.

• Skilled in presenting at various meetings and training sessions.

• Strong analytical and judgement skills.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment and work as a team player

• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
