JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Assistant Store Manager will be directly reporting to the Store Manager.
KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:
Team Management
- Plan and implement weekly schedules taking into consideration store operations and the required coverage.
- Assist in managing the store team s shifts and leave plans ensuring optimum coverage.
- Check personal presentation of the team and ensure that all employees in the store respects company policy uniform and personal appearance policy (makeup personal hygiene etc.).
- Conduct impactful briefing sessions in the absence of the Store Manager (example: sales update and targets policies HR updates etc.).
- Assist the Store Manager in managing and allocating duties to employees within the store.
- Ensure store expectations and priorities are communicated to the team.
- Assist the Store Manager in conducting regular and relevant instore training ensuring a major focus on customer service product knowledge and selling skills.
- Coach store team on how to engage with customers; use methods such as role plays quizzes short learning sessions and digital tools to enhance product knowledge.
Sales and Commercial
- Actively seek ways to achieve or exceed the store s sales targets engage with the team and drive performance.
- Monitor sales performance against previous years (monthly weekly and daily) and provide feedback to the team and support other departments with feedback and ideas needed for development of the business.
- Ensure 100% implementation of the Retail SOPs.
- Support with the creation and change of instore and window displays designs and look to enhance the store s image.
Customer Focus
- As much as possible support with creating arrangements according to clients requirements and in respect of the company s design standards.
- Support with the selection of flowers and foliage for floral arrangements working with the team of florists to develop new creations.
- Ensure that customers are always attended to and deliver excellent service standards at all times through proper execution of the company s policies related to customer service i.e. exchanges and refunds quality taking orders phone and email etiquette etc.
- Ensure all displayed products are properly priced.
Inventory and Stock Control
- Monitor the store inventory and report to the management on the shortage of inventory and wastage.
- Implement procedures set by the Store Manager to enable the placement of orders to purchase flowers and supplies from distributors.
- Monitor and manage fresh flowers wastage and ensure that it s kept at a minimum by continuously reviewing sales patterns customer preferences accounting for peak times and ordering fresh flowers accordingly.
- Oversee cash transaction entry and management: petty cash POS cash transactions cash floats and ensure that cash is deposited promptly once the cash limit is reached.
- Prepare and review store reports on sales ATVs and stock aging (slow moving fast moving and nonmoving products).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- Good working knowledge of computers.
- Good knowledge of Excel PowerPoint and Word.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Leadership skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Florist skills are a plus but not a requirement.
- Experience working with luxury brands.
