JOB PURPOSE
Play an active role in the entire strategy life cycle for the organization, covering strategic planning, execution plan development, performance management, project management and reporting.
- The Senior Specialist areas of responsibility cover:
- Participating in the development of annual strategic and execution plans, working alongside the core organization and ensure alignment of all plans to Organization and Abu Dhabi strategic objectives
- Collecting, analyzing, monitoring and reporting key performance metrics for identified initiatives in the organization, ensuring alignment with established plans and suggesting corrective measures
- Undertake project management activities for the initiatives from planning to execution, including project planning, budget and KPI development, progress monitoring, reporting and escalation
- Conducting strategic analysis and environmental scans on organization in order to identify and evaluate trends / opportunities / threats and support developing business strategies for these areas
- Support in the preparation of documents for senior leadership at Organization and Abu Dhabi Government
- Lead and develop 1-2 specialists across the above areas
The successful candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills (oral and written), with an ability to structure complex issues into logically consistent and exhaustive buckets. The candidate should be familiar with project management tools and techniques, be able to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and establish excellent working relationships with counterparts within outside the department, including the organization. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate leadership skills and a clear passion and interest in the development of the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Planning
- Support Strategy Leads in the team in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term strategic plans and objectives for the Department and its sectors.
- Understand holistically the strategic initiatives and the impact on those on the overall strategy, identify potential issues and propose appropriate solutions to resolve them.
- Participate in translating the strategy into a set of clear short-term operational objectives as per the execution plans of the overarching strategy.
- Work with organization in formulating unit level and growth strategies to address gaps in existing strategic plans against identified objectives
Project Management
- Implement project management standards, policies, process and templates in line with the industry best practices.
- Create project roadmaps and plans that highlight important phases and milestones, critical task and dependencies, capabilities and resources required and desired outcomes and objectives.
- Monitor project execution and delivery, ensuring that deviations are highlighted and appropriated mitigation plans are adopted to optimise project outcomes.
- Provide support to organizationstakeholders on project management related matters and ensure all projects and initiatives are completed on time.
- Guide continuous improvement process for standard operating procedures to ensure standard project management practices are followed by the department enabling consistency and quality.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records related to the portfolio of projects, and check and highlight any non-conformity with project management standards
Corporate Performance
- Contribute to the development of corporate performance framework that helps organizationto develop an integrated Corporate Performance Management approach which aligns business strategy, accountabilities, decision support and operational execution.
- Integrate performance measurement with planning, budgeting, and financial consolidation processes to achieve successful strategy implementation.
- Engage with organization to provide guidance and support in setting and developing KPIs, while ensuring alignment with overall strategies and operational plans
- Regularly monitor corporate performance, organize performance reviews meetings with , suggest corrective measures and follow up on implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare high-level performance reports for senior leadership and provide recommendations based on best practices to bridge performance gaps
Strategic analysis
- Contribute to the organizationstrategy by assisting in evaluating future market and business trends, regulatory developments, competitive positioning and tourism/culture sectors opportunities.
- Assist in facilitation in analysis at high level requirement gathering for strategic initiatives when needed.
- Review and analyze information provided by the client and/or developed by the teams.
- Research, analyze and provide recommendations on emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities and competitive threats, which impact organizationstrategic directions.
- Work in cross functional teams on time-bound projects for growth opportunities highlighted by senior leadership to enable organizationand Abu Dhabi to capitalize and deliver
Requirements
Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses)
Bachelor s Degree or Master s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or relevant field.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience preferably in a strategy consulting firm or a similar role in a dynamic and complex industry.
The roles require the candidates to relocate to Abu Dhabi.
Please note that candidates will need to be providing proof of residency in Abu Dhabi, such as a tenancy contract after relocating.
