FAQ About UAE

Becoming a salesman in the UAE require some qualifications, among these qualifications are holding a bachelor's degree in management, marketing or any related field. Also, it’s required having a previous experience in a similar role, obtaining a work permit and being able to communicate well in Arabic and English.

The duties and responsibilities of a salesman in the UAE often focus on the following:

  • Building solid relationships with customers.

  • Providing information that customers need.

  • Acquire new customers by focusing on leads.

  • Applying sales strategies to enhance revenue.

  • Promoting products and services

In a job market as active and full of business opportunities as in the Emirates, salesmen often sell all kinds of products and services, except for items that are prohibited in the Islamic religion and may be subject to some special provisions in trading. Other than that, the following are among the most sold products by salesmen in the UAE:

  • Products sold in retail stores.

  • Real estate.

  • Cars.

  • Medical equipment.

  • Electronic devices.

Salesman can improve their sales performance in the UAE by attending training in sales techniques and digging deep into the products/ services he/ she sells. In addition, language proficiency and experience are two key factors in improving sales performance in the UAE.

Besides, some skills such as communication, customer service and negotiation are very helpful for such a goal.

The primary and official language in the UAE is Arabic. Most of the residents of the UAE speak it, whether Emiratis or expatriates. Therefore, the Arabic language is necessary for a job such as a salesman that often requires verbal communication with customers. In addition, the English language is widely accepted in the UAE and many communicate with it instead of the Arabic language, and it is also necessary in many cases.

The typical working hours for salesmen in the UAE are around 8 or 9 per day, starting from 8 or 9 AM to 5 or 6 PM. Noting that this depends greatly on the employer, as working hours can be shifts. In this case, the employee may work later hours in the day based on the schedule.

A salesman in the UAE earns a salary ranging between AED 5,900 and 12,800. In addition to the salary, the salesman in the UAE receives commissions on the sale and enjoys, in some cases, benefits such as housing and transportation allowance, medical and social Insurance, and annual leave credit.

Among the very important areas of training a salesman should keep on eyes to advance his career in the UAE are sales techniques and strategies, deep knowledge of products and services, soft skills and self-development., new tech training, and language training.

All the above is important for the salesman to obtain training in it, whether through accredited training centers or distance learning platforms around the world.

Salesmen in the UAE face some challenges such as the need to constantly evolve due to the highly competitive job market, as well as language barriers due to multiculturalism, and having to deal with different types of clients, and achieving sales targets.

For the salesman to be able to overcome these challenges, it is important to continuously develop his selling skills, to be fluent in both Arabic and English as much as possible, and to have an awareness of cultural diversity and how to deal with different types of people.
