Job Description

- Coordinating the work of other team members such as welders, plumbers, electricians, and laborers
- Ensuring that all piping work complies with local building codes and regulations
- Inspecting work for conformance to codes and standards, such as the National Electric Code or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Standards B31.1
- Preparing bids for new projects and estimating labor and material costs for construction projects
- Supervising and training subordinate staff members and other workers on the job site
- Assigning tasks to other workers on a construction crew
- Scheduling the work crew to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively in their tasks
- Performing hands-on work such as laying pipe and welding
- Reporting progress on projects to managers or clients as needed
