August 2024 Start The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat Oman serving the local Omani community as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.

The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS).

We are actively seeking an experienced and enthusiastic International Baccalaureate (IB) Computer Science Teacher to join our esteemed institution in Oman. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our students by instilling a deep understanding and appreciation for computer science within the context of the IB program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:
   • Design and implement a comprehensive and challenging IB Computer Science curriculum ensuring alignment with program objectives and standards.
   • Integrate realworld applications problemsolving exercises and projectbased learning to enhance students practical skills.
2. Interactive Instruction:
   • Utilize innovative teaching methodologies to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences.
   • Foster critical thinking and computational skills through handson coding exercises algorithm design and system analysis.
3. Assessment and Feedback:
   • Develop and administer assessments that effectively evaluate student comprehension and application of computer science principles.
   • Provide timely and constructive feedback to guide students in their academic growth and development.
4. Integration of Technology:
   • Demonstrate a proficiency in utilizing emerging technologies and tools relevant to the field of computer science.
   • Encourage students to explore and experiment with cuttingedge technologies to stay abreast of industry advancements.
5. Collaborative Projects:
   • Collaborate with fellow educators to develop crossdisciplinary projects that demonstrate the intersection of computer science with other subject areas.
   • Guide students in applying their computer science knowledge to solve realworld challenges through collaborative projects.
6. Professional Development:
   • Stay current with developments in computer science education attending workshops conferences and engaging in continuous professional development.
   • Contribute to the professional growth of colleagues through the sharing of best practices and emerging trends in the field.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Teaching certification with a focus on IB Computer Science if available.
• Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience preferably with experience in the IB program.
• Proficiency in programming languages databases and relevant computer science tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills fostering positive relationships with students parents and colleagues.
