Job Description
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our database infrastructure efforts. You will be responsible for designing implementing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases for high availability performance and scalability. This includes managing replication backup disaster recovery and supporting business intelligence tools like Tableau and Power BI. The role also involves collaborating with DevOps and development teams to enforce best practices support data-driven applications and contribute to strategic data architecture planning.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field
5 years of hands-on DBA experience with PostgreSQL in production environments
Expertise in PostgreSQL internals performance tuning and advanced features (partitioning indexing etc.)
Experience with MySQL and at least one NoSQL database (e.g. MongoDB Redis)
Proficiency in PL/pgSQL writing complex queries stored procedures and functions
Familiarity with replication tools (Patron pgpool-II) backup solutions (pgBackRest Barman)
Experience in PostgreSQL on cloud platforms (AWS RDS Azure GCP)
Strong knowledge of database security RBAC and audit logging
Soft skills: excellent problem-solving leadership cross-team communication and project management
Preferred: PostgreSQL certifications Agile experience CI/CD pipeline integration and multi-tenant SaaS experience
