Design and develop aerospace systems and components including airframes propulsion units guidance systems and navigation technologies.
Conduct feasibility studies and performance analysis using simulation tools and mathematical models.
Develop and test prototypes including static and dynamic testing wind tunnel experiments and flight tests.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical electrical and software engineers to ensure system integration and performance.
Perform failure analysis troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g. FAA EASA MIL-STD AS9100).
Prepare technical documentation including design specifications analysis reports and test procedures.
Participate in project planning budgeting and timeline estimation.
Support the certification process for aerospace products and systems.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Masters or PhD preferred for R&D roles).
Experience:
25 years of experience in aerospace system design development or testing.
Experience with CAD/CAE tools (e.g. CATIA SolidWorks ANSYS MATLAB/Simulink).
Familiarity with industry standards materials and manufacturing processes.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of aerodynamics flight mechanics propulsion systems and structural analysis.
Proficient in engineering simulation and modeling tools.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) satellite systems or space vehicles.
Knowledge of systems engineering and requirements management (e.g. DOORS).
Programming/scripting experience (e.g. Python C MATLAB).
Security clearance or eligibility for defense-related projects (if applicable).
