Experiences of those on the Programme

Our first cohort of Provost Fellows joined in January 2025. Below is an insight into their experiences:

After more than a decade of industry experience the Fellowship is a great way of getting into academia. The team is extremely supportive and due to HWUs focus on student employability I feel that my previous experiences are not only appreciated but actively sought out by colleagues and students alike. The fellowship is ideally paced to cover lecturing research and administrative aspects of academia and I can highly recommend it for anyone interested in getting a head start or transitioning into higher education. (Dr Clemens Mielke)

The Provost Fellowship has been an invaluable experience significantly contributing to my professional development and preparing me for a successful academic career. My time at HeriotWatt has been highly positive and productive! (Dr Dina Mohamed)

My journey as a Provost Fellow is incredibly rewarding. This role is giving me the opportunity to develop my teaching skills through valuable classroom experience and targeted training as well as to grow as a researcher with the tools and time to build a research profile that will shape my academic career.
