A Painter with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is responsible for maintaining the highest aesthetic standards across all hotel areas by performing painting finishing and touchup work on walls surfaces furniture and fixtures. This role ensures that the hotel maintains a flawless appearance that reflects our commitment to excellence comfort and luxury.
What will I be doing
As a painter you are responsible for maintaining and enhancing the visual appeal of all guest areas public spaces and backofhouse facilities. You will also respond to guest and internal requests efficiently ensuring minimal disruption and consistent you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Perform interior and exterior painting including surface preparation priming sanding staining varnishing and sealing to achieve highquality finishes.
- Carry out regular painting maintenance and repair tasks on walls ceilings woodwork doors metalwork and furniture throughout the property.
- Prepare paint and polish surfaces in guest rooms public areas and backofhouse locations ensuring a flawless and professional finish.
- Carry out scheduled decorating and maintenance tasks efficiently and ensure all work is completed within the required timeframe and quality standards.
- Identify surface imperfections and conduct repair work including sanding filling cracks or holes and priming as necessary.
- Apply various finishes and techniques such as staining varnishing and texturing to walls ceilings woodwork and fixtures.
- Ensure safe handling labeling and secure storage of all paints solvents and chemical materials in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain all painting tools equipment and workspace in excellent condition ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use at all times.
- Protect surrounding areas during painting and decorating work by using drop cloths masking and appropriate safety measures.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas in need of touchup or repainting and take proactive action to maintain the hotels visual standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize disruption to guests while coordinating painting activities.
- Follow all hotel and departmental health and safety guidelines including the proper use of protective equipment and safe working practices.
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service and professionalism when interacting with guests and colleagues ensuring a courteous and accommodating approach.
- Keep accurate records of work performed materials used and areas completed as part of maintenance reporting.

- Minimum 35 years of proven experience as a professional Painter preferably within a luxury hotel resort or highend commercial setting.
- Vocational certification or relevant trade qualification in Painting and Decorating.
- Expertise in surface preparation color mixing painting techniques and finishing methods including varnishing and polishing.
- Strong eye for detail and aesthetics with the ability to achieve consistently highquality finishes.
- Knowledge of a wide range of painting tools materials and equipment along with safe usage and handling.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations including the safe storage and disposal of paints solvents and chemicals.
- Ability to identify and repair surface imperfections cracks or damages with appropriate materials and techniques.
- Competent in following preventive maintenance schedules and completing work documentation accurately.
- Capable of reading and interpreting design specifications color guides and work orders.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative engineering and maintenance team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a courteous and guestoriented approach.
- Committed to delivering work of the highest standards while maintaining a clean safe and organized work environment.
- Flexible and dependable with the ability to work varied shifts including weekends and oncall hours when needed.
