- Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ). Actively encourages and leads the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
- Ensures that all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and that in consultation with site management and HSE team HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
- Is responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under their control and for stopping work where this might be compromised
- Ensures that works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time and budget requirements
- Coordinates all lifts and lifting equipment on the site (where HZI is the principal contractor)
- Chairs coordination meetings between the various contractors on site to ensure the minimum hindrance to the construction work
- Prepares HZI lifting method statements
- Ensures that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
- Conducts regular audits of contractor lifting equipment
- Ensures all lifting operations are planned organised and undertaken by competent persons. The plan will address the risks identified by the RAMS the resources required procedures and the responsibilities so that any lifting operation is carried out safely
- Ensures lifting equipment is suitable for the proposed use and is used safely
- Selects and provides a suitable crane and work equipment including safe slinging and signalling arrangements
- Maintains and examines the crane and equipment
- Ensures that all concerned personnel are trained and competent in Lifting procedures
- Supervises operations by personnel having the necessary authority
- Plans and provides thorough examinations reports and other documents
- Prevents unauthorised movement or use of the crane; and measures to secure safety of persons not involved in the lifting
- Checks that lifting equipment and accessories (slings clamps strops chains hooks etc. are marked with any appropriate information which must be taken account for its safe use e. g. safe working loads
- Ensures that lifting equipment and lifting accessories are subject to a periodic thorough examination as required
- Delivers Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects
- Keeps the Site Manager informed of all siterelated activities
Qualifications :
- Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience in Lifting Operations at an Industrial construction sites or any type of Process Plants.
- Expertise in Heavy Industrial Cranes (Crawler Crane Tower Cranes Mobile Cranes)
- Knowledge of British Standard BS 7121 Part 1 2006
- Appointed Persons Lifting Operations Qualification
- Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements
- Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent
- Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) Safepass (ROI) CSCS or CCNSG card or equivalen
