Job Description
- Read and interpret work drawings and specifications. Prepare the work, for instance determine the required materials (quantity, size, etc.).
- Assemble steel bars or steel mesh, e.g. by welding or using a steelfixer's pincer. Hoist steel bars, steel mesh and reinforcements into place.
- Steel fixers positionand assemble steel bars and mesh sheeting with ligatures to form reinforcement for concrete structures such as concrete slabs, columns, drainage and communication pits, walls and concrete barrier structures. Steel fixing is the mould created prior to pouring the concrete.
