Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Designer to join our team for an Onshore Project. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and developing instrumentation systems for various oil and gas processes ensuring compliance with project specifications industry standards and ADNOCs requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instrumentation Design: Prepare detailed instrumentation drawings (P&ID loop diagrams instrument location plans hookup drawings wiring diagrams etc.) in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards (ANSI IEC ISO ASME etc.).
- System Design & Coordination: Design control systems including control panels field instrumentation and associated systems and ensure integration with the plants overall systems.
- Design Calculations: Perform calculations related to instrument sizing such as pressure flow temperature and level measurements and ensure compliance with safety and operational specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other team members including Process Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to ensure that designs meet the projects technical requirements.
- Materials & Specifications: Ensure all instrumentation materials are specified correctly and meet the design criteria. Review and validate instrument data sheets.
- Review & Approval: Participate in design reviews HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies and other quality control processes. Address and resolve any designrelated issues.
- Compliance: Ensure that designs comply with applicable safety regulations industry standards and ADNOCs quality standards.
- Vendor Liaison: Work with vendors for selecting and procuring instruments ensuring proper coordination for instrumentation deliveries.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and uptodate design documentation and reports throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Designer in Oil & Gas EPC projects with a proven track record in the design of instrumentation systems in upstream oil and gas facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software tools for instrumentation.
- Solid understanding of P&ID loop diagrams instrument data sheets and other relevant technical documents.
- Familiarity with control systems (DCS PLC SCADA) and associated instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g. IEC 61511 ISA84 ANSI and local UAE standards).
- Experience in designing systems for oil & gas onshore production facilities refineries or petrochemical plants is a must.
