We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented ELV Estimator to join our team in the IT solutions sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating costs and resources required for the implementation of ELV systems (such as structured cabling CCTV access control fire alarm PA systems and networking) in IT infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Project Documentation: Analyse project specifications architectural and electrical drawings and IT infrastructure requirements for ELV systems.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ELV systems covering all materials labour and equipment needed for installation in alignment with IT solutions and infrastructure projects.
- Site Visits: Conduct site surveys and visits to gather accurate data for the preparation of estimates including evaluating onsite conditions and identifying any specific installation challenges.
- Vendor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers manufacturers and subcontractors for materials and services required for ELV system installation in IT environments.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from the drawings to determine the required materials and resources for each ELV system.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare comprehensive tenders quotations and proposals ensuring clarity in technical specifications and accurate pricing for ELV systems in ITrelated projects.
- Technical Support: Collaborate with the design project management and engineering teams to ensure that the proposed ELV systems meet client specifications and comply with industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the estimation process and provide recommendations for mitigating them ensuring all assumptions and contingencies are clearly outlined.
- Cost Tracking and Monitoring: Monitor project budgets and assist in tracking costs throughout the life cycle of the project ensuring financial control is maintained.
- Compliance: Ensure that all estimates are in compliance with local regulations safety standards and best practices for IT infrastructure and ELV systems.
- Documentation Management: Maintain organized records of cost estimations technical documentation and correspondence related to tenders and estimates.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics IT Infrastructure or a related field.
- Experience: At least 35 years of experience in estimating ELV systems for IT solutions network infrastructure or related sectors.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT solutions and ELV systems (e.g. CCTV Fire Alarm Access Control Structured Cabling Networking PA Systems etc.).
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel AutoCAD and any other estimation or project management software
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in cost estimation and the ability to spot discrepancies or missing components in project documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports proposals and for liaising with clients vendors and internal teams.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tenders and deadlines effectively.
