Take full ownership of the TB and all accounts contained within. You will be hands on with our business stakeholders to stay up to date with business activities, translating these into accurate reporting and complete financial records
Monthly and other periodic reporting to support the needs of both the business and the wider Finance team. Reporting includes but is not limited to, Group consolidation, actuals vs budget, variance analysis, cost drivers, statutory reporting
Ensuring alignment to all relevant compliance reporting matters including statutory accounts, quarterly consolidation reviews, VAT reporting across four tax jurisdictions, ESR reporting and reporting to the Dubai Statistics Board. Supporting any and all audits or reviews as necessary
Reviewing POs as part of the P2P process by working with various stakeholders, understanding the cost and comparing to budget. This role is also part of the payment release flow to ensure a segregation of duties in our banking portals
Taking a hands-on approach to any pilots or other new ideas running through the business
Accurate records start with an understanding of the business, interlinking relationships with the operations teams and development of processes to get the relevant and accurate data to the TB
This role is expected to be proactive and take initiative; getting hands on in all of these steps and bringing ideas to the Asst Finance Director as they arise
Mentor other team members to improve their knowledge and skillsets. Full TB ownership will involve review of others' work. As a team, we provide on the spot feedback and support to better improve ourselves. You will be expected to do the same, with the end goal of uplifting the team, empowering them and advancing their knowledge
Working alongside other Finance stakeholders, supporting each other to better develop the overall Finance function. Activities of support can include systems testing, data analysis, charge of accounts changes etc
Challenging current processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies within the department
Drive any identified business improvements
Recommend/support all system developments impacting accounting and reporting processes. Co-ordinate with the finance team, management and non-financial business leads to ensure smooth operations business wide
Align management financial reports with business strategy to provide the insight and transparency necessary to affect positive change and drive decision making
Develop and recommend accounting control strategies to establish and manage financial policies, processes and procedures, and records
Desired candidate profile
ACA, ACCA, CPA qualification (or equivalent)
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or another related field
Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a similar industry and role
Strong knowledge of IFRS and FTA requirements
Experience of interacting with external auditors / Big 4 audit experience
Detailed knowledge of accounting software applications
Advanced MS Excel skills
Ability to operate effectively with people at all levels of the business
Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines on critical projects with high attention to detail
Proactive and result driven with a strong desire to exceed expectations
