Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer in Facility Management is responsible for ensuring the effective operation maintenance and optimization of mechanical systems within the facility including HVAC plumbing fire protection and building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Operations:
- Oversee the operation maintenance and repair of mechanical systems (HVAC plumbing fire protection pumps etc.).
- Perform routine inspections troubleshoot mechanical systems and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for all mechanical systems.
System Design and Installation:
- Provide engineering support for the design installation and modification of mechanical systems within the facility.
- Assist in the selection of equipment and materials based on project needs specifications and budget.
Project Management:
- Coordinate with internal teams and contractors for mechanical system installations upgrades and replacements.
- Ensure mechanical systems comply with local building codes safety regulations and environmental standards.
Energy Management:
- Implement energysaving measures in mechanical systems including HVAC and lighting controls to reduce energy consumption.
- Monitor system performance to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Assist in the development of budgets for mechanical system maintenance and improvements.
- Track and control costs related to repairs parts procurement and new equipment installations.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with facility management teams building operators and external vendors to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Provide technical support to facility staff and address any mechanicalrelated concerns.
