Job Description
Location: Media City Dubai (Officebased)
Duration: Two weeks
Start Date: 10th of February
Dazed MENA is seeking a meticulous and experienced Sub Editor to join our team on a freelance basis for two weeks to help finalise our upcoming print issue. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of a bold youthfocused publication that champions creativity and culture in the MENA region.
Responsibilities:
- Subedit all copy for the upcoming print issue ensuring impeccable grammar spelling and punctuation.
- Factcheck content to ensure accuracy and consistency across all articles.
- Collaborate closely with the Deputy Editor to maintain the Dazed MENA editorial tone and style.
- Liaise with the Art Director to ensure copy aligns seamlessly with the magazines visual layout.
- Manage tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Provide final proofreading and signoff on all pages before printing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sub Editor preferably on print titles.
- Familiarity with Dazeds editorial tone and the ability to maintain it.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience using InDesign and CMS tools is highly desirable.
- Based in Dubai and able to work from the office for the duration of the role.
