- Industry Experience: At least 15+ years of experience in commissioning and project management within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Technical Expertise: Deep familiarity with process plant and equipment, pipelines, pigging operations, and commissioning of utility packages.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
- Risk Management: Strong skills in safety hazard evaluation and risk assessment preparation.
Specialist Roles And Responsibilities
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas process plant & equipment, Compressors & ancillary systems, H2S removal & gas sweetening systems, condensate sweetening systems, hot oil and flare systems
- Experience of pipelines and pigging operations
- Experience in Commissioning of Utility packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Experience of multicultural project teams.

Anticipated Roles And Responsibilities
- Provide a positive role in promoting good HSE culture
- Evaluation of safety hazards and preparation of risk assessments.
- Review and approve Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning activities at Fabrication Yard.
- Review and approve discipline status indices by system.
- Assist planning Engineer to establish commissioning network, priorities, durations and look ahead schedules.
- Provide assistance to preservation maintenance team.
- Review operating philosophies & operator guides.
- Review Commissioning & start up spares including Vendor spare parts and consumable list.
- Review of materials, tools & test equipment required for commissioning.
- Review the HSSE requirements of all specialist equipment/fluids.
- Review vendor packages for compliance with specifications witness factory acceptance tests and Operational Tests.
- Identification of temporary equipment required for commissioning of the facility Assist EPC contractor & monitor execution of work to achieve mechanical completion.
- Acceptance of Mechanically Complete sub-systems from the EPC contractor including punch out, clearance and handover.
- Interface with Engineering support personnel on technical matters.
- Conduct individual equipment noise surveys.
- Review and acceptance of Operational Test Procedures.
- Review of specific method statements / procedures.
- Review of isolation registers during commissioning phase.
- Witness chemical cleaning or flushing operations
- Witness purging operations
- Witness EPC contractor activities during process system dynamic commissioning utilising safe fluids.
- Witness vessels for internal inspection, isolations, air movers & temporary lighting.
- Carry process first fill & top up of process systems.
- Assist with Change out of commissioning & start up filters & strainers.
- Review and approve Nitrogen/Helium Sensitive Leak test packs.
- Co-ordinate and direct technicians and operations technicians to progress Commissioning activities in line with Project Planning Priorities and Commissioning Procedures.
- Provide assistance to operations during start up.
- Conduct performance testing for the facility.

- Review project documentation (e.g., design plans, technical specifications, safety protocols) to understand the system's requirements and prepare for the commissioning process.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop commissioning plans and schedules.
- Verify the installation of systems and equipment against the design documentation to ensure they are properly set up and meet all required standards.

System Testing and Startup:
- Conduct a series of tests to ensure that electrical, mechanical, control, and safety systems are functioning as intended.
- Perform functional testing, leak testing, pressure testing, and electrical systems testing to verify that the equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Oversee the startup of equipment, including pumps, turbines, boilers, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and control systems, ensuring smooth operation during the initial phase.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the commissioning process, such as mechanical failures, electrical faults, or control system glitches.
- Work closely with other engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure that systems are operating within their specified parameters.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to address any problems or defects in equipment or installation.

System Optimization and Performance Testing:
- Optimize the performance of systems by adjusting settings, fine-tuning controls, and ensuring all components work efficiently.
- Perform system performance evaluations, such as energy efficiency assessments, load balancing, and capacity checks to ensure systems meet operational expectations.
- Test systems under normal and peak load conditions to ensure reliability and stability.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all commissioning activities, including test results, system configurations, and any changes made during the commissioning process.
- Prepare commissioning reports, outlining the status of the systems, identified issues, and solutions, along with any recommendations for improvement or maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols throughout the commissioning process.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of the commissioning progress and any issues encountered.
- Provide technical support and training to clients, operators, and maintenance teams, ensuring they understand how to operate and maintain the systems effectively.
- Offer expert advice to clients regarding system improvements, modifications, or upgrades during and after the commissioning process.

Handover and Final Acceptance:
- Ensure the systems are fully operational, and all issues are addressed before the formal handover to the client or operational team.
- Conduct final inspections and ensure that all documentation (e.g., as-built drawings, operation manuals) is complete and provided to the client.
- Obtain formal approval and acceptance from clients or regulatory authorities that the system meets all requirements for operation.
