We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk Engineer specializing in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Integrity to join our team for the ADNOC PMC BGC project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will have robust expertise in risk assessment, schedule checks, and managing HSE risks, contributing to the overall safety culture and compliance of the project.
Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential HSE hazards and establish mitigation strategies.
- Integrity Management: Oversee the integrity of HSE systems, ensuring compliance with ADNOC and KBR standards.
- HSE Risk Evaluation: Analyze and evaluate HSE risks throughout the project lifecycle, providing recommendations for risk reduction and management strategies.
- Schedule Checks: Perform schedule assessments to track risk management activities and ensure timely completion of HSE deliverables.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed risk assessment reports to project stakeholders, highlighting critical risk factors and proposed solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to integrate HSE considerations into planning and execution phases.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and project staff on HSE risk management best practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
- Experience: 12 to 18 years of relevant experience in risk assessment, HSE management, and integrity assurance in oil and gas or related industries.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in risk assessment tools and software, as well as a strong understanding of HSE standards and compliance requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and propose feasible solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively to various stakeholders.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Risk Assessment and Analysis:
- Proficiency in conducting hazard identification (HAZID), hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Expertise in quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and bow-tie analysis.

Regulatory Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 31000, NFPA, OSHA, API, IEC 61508).
- Experience ensuring compliance with local and international safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Safety Systems Design and Analysis:
- Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and layers of protection analysis (LOPA).
- Knowledge of functional safety principles and tools.

Operational Risk Management:
- Development and implementation of risk management frameworks.
- Expertise in process safety, asset integrity, and operational excellence programs.

Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Proficiency in risk modeling tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Monte Carlo simulations, or specialized risk software like Phast, BowTieXP).
- Strong statistical and probabilistic analysis capabilities.

Incident Investigation:
- Root cause analysis (RCA) and reporting to prevent recurrence.
- Use of techniques like the 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or TapRooT.
