2. Technical Accounting Expertise
- Accounting Standards: In-depth knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Financial Reporting: Proficiency in preparing accurate financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Taxation and Compliance: Expertise in corporate taxation, regulatory requirements, and ensuring compliance with laws and standards.
3. Analytical and Strategic Thinking
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of a Financial Controller
1. Financial Management and Oversight
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance, and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensuring sufficient cash flow to meet operational needs and strategic investments.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
2. Compliance and Risk Management
- Audit Coordination: Managing internal and external audits, ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Risk Mitigation: Identifying financial risks and implementing controls to protect the organization’s assets.
3. Operational Efficiency
- System Optimization: Implementing and managing financial systems to streamline accounting processes and improve accuracy.

4. Strategic Planning and Decision Support

Desired candidate profile
You will take the lead on the hotel's financial strategy, operational performance, financial reporting, setting up & optimizing internal controls, team management & development, capital expenditure review & developing productive relationships with 3rd parties in the region. The role will work closely with the Hotel General Manager, cross functional Executive Team & Corporate Office to set up, establish & drive the performance of the hotel.
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field & professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 5 years experience at managerial level that includes:
- Track record of driving hotel finance performance.
- Strong technical accounting, finance & taxation skills.
- Preparation, review, analysis & presentation of management & statutory reporting.
- Extensive Knowledge of hotel internal controls.
- Knowledge of budget process.
- Team Management, with ability to meet tight deadlines & coach team.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
- Rebranding/pre-opening experience & having set up and managed a cluster finance operation is an advantage.
- English skills: excellent verbal and written communication is required.
- Computer literate, including systems implementation & knowledge of Sun, Opera & Micros
