Roles and responsibilities
- Responsible for activity planning, work scheduling, assigning responsibilities to Jnr engineers & designers, and monitoring to meet the project schedule with resource optimization.
- To guide material controllers for the assigned EPC project(s) in accordance with the Company established procedures and specific project specifications.
- Review of project specifications, P&IDs, material and drawings delivery schedule in line with project baseline schedule complying the RDC (Run Down Curve) and to identify the gaps and to highlight to concerned EPC management / JV / Client.
- To support EPC procurement and Engineering in finalizing the material deliveries in line with project schedule and to assist for material grades alternatives.
- To verify the Engineering deliverables are maintaining the project quality and are in line with the project specifications.
- To ensure a proper document management and revision control system is in place supporting any applicable project audits and to have live records maintained in the system for quick verifications.
- Support project supervision, and EPC production team for development of completion programs by providing necessary inputs.
- To coordinate with QC and Engineering team for ensuring the quality standard are maintained in line with the design requirements. Also to coordinate with QC, Engineering / client for any clarifications related to test pack / commissioning packages.
- Coordination with procurement and warehouse team for pre-ordering and reserving of materials in advance prior vessel arrival.
- To coordinate with client for all technical discussions / substitutions in terms of construction and (or) procurement.
- Liaise with Buyers / Purchase Dept. for technical queries asked by respective supplier and follow up / monitoring the deliveries of critical materials in line with job completion schedule.
- Provide proposal for alternative materials in case the original requirements are not readily available in the local market.
- Check the list of materials requested against actual used and the RTS (Return to Store) for the return of excess materials of the project.
- Coordinate closely to other trades for critical request required for completion of piping construction.
- Preparing department performance evaluation reports for management review.
- Active participation in productivity improvement process by implementing new forms / methods which will enhance the current process.
Qualification/Experiences & Skills
• Good knowledge to ASME .
• Good Knowledge to Class rules.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and other design softwares
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
• Man-hour variance, inch dia/inch-mtr in tracker, project scheduling.

Desired candidate profile
- Piping Design: Expertise in designing and laying out piping systems, including selecting appropriate materials, components, and routing.
- Piping Codes and Standards: In-depth knowledge of relevant international codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, ASTM, and local regulations for piping design and installation.
- Piping Stress Analysis: Experience with piping stress analysis using software like CAESAR II or AutoPIPE to ensure the piping system can withstand internal pressure, temperature variations, and external forces.
- Material Selection: Knowledge of various materials used for piping systems (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, alloy materials) and their application in different environments (corrosive, high-temperature, etc.).
- Piping Fabrication: Understanding of the fabrication process, including welding, fitting, and pipe bending, to ensure correct construction of the piping systems.
Engineering Software
- AutoCAD and 3D CAD Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD software for creating piping layouts and detailed drawings.
- Piping Design Software: Familiarity with specialized piping design software like PDMS (Plant Design Management System), SP3D, or SmartPlant 3D.
- Stress Analysis Software: Proficiency with tools like CAESAR II or AutoPIPE to perform pipe stress analysis and ensure systems meet design specifications.
- Pipe Flow Simulation: Knowledge of fluid dynamics software for simulating and optimizing flow within piping systems, ensuring efficiency and safety.
