Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Responsible to manage and supervise Electrical, Instrument / Control, Telecom teams within DDW

.

Able to manage teams size of 100+ Engineers and designers

.

Plan and supervise activities for multiple FEED, Detail Design and Production engineering activities/ projects.

.

Plan, organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives

.

Utilize Resources Efficiently to minimize Man hours spent on projects.

.

Assuring technical integrity of all EICT engineering deliverables for all relevant projects, inter discipline coordination, managing the progress of assigned engineering scope in line with PMT requirement

.

Planning & execution for engineering activities related to Offshore hook-up & Pre-Shut down, Shutdown & Post Shutdown activity

.

Providing technical support and coordinating preparation of operating philosophies, design calculations and system studies (Load Flow, Large Motor Starting, SC, Transient, Harmonics Analysis, Relay Coordination, Earthing) by using ETAP software

.

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, quality of outputs, processes and practices taking into account best engineering practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement within EIT engineering disciplines.

.

Conduct Engineering audits, risk assessment and training as required

.

Broad technical knowledge of Electrical Power systems & Controls, Telecom & Navigation systems, Process Control System, ESD and Fire & Gas systems, Integrated Automation Systems etc. covering Basic, Detail and Production Engineering for Marine, FPSO, FSO, FSRU and Offshore Platform Projects

.

Knowledge and experienced in developing Datasheets / RFQ and follow on TBE till vendor selection for EICT Equipment Packages

.

Experienced in developing Datasheets / RFQ and follow on TBE till vendor selection for EICT Equipment Packages

.

Thorough knowledge of HV and LV System design, integration and installation

.

Broad technical knowledge of installation and commissioning of EICT systems

.

Well versed with Classification rules and Engineering Standards applicable for EICT Systems

.

Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases

.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives

.

Project management skills

.

Experience in marine projects, offshore topsides, facilities including FPSO, FSRU, FSO, Drilling rigs, HVAC/HVDC and Process platforms for major projects

.

Experience with performing as per IEC/IEEE, UL, NORSOK, API, NEMA, CAP-437, CAAP-71 standards, a proficient knowledge and understanding of ABS, DNV_GL, LR, BV classification requirements and IMO, SOLAS regulations

.

Thorough knowledge on DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, Network & Communication Protocols

Desired Candidate Profile

•Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or Control & Instrumentation Engineering or Equivalent

•15 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / oil & gas industry in design office.

•Minimum 5 years of experience as Lead EICT in Engineering Office

•Experience in power distribution & safety.

• Project management experience in high value projects.

• Working experience in major Production / Construction sites and heavy industrial segments.

• Experience in offshore HVDC & HVAC systems


Desired candidate profile

  1. System Integration: Expertise in integrating software, hardware, and networking systems, ensuring they communicate effectively and perform as intended.
  2. Software Development: Knowledge of software engineering principles and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C++ to support integration efforts.
  3. Hardware Integration: Understanding how hardware components (e.g., sensors, controllers, actuators) interact with software and other devices in the system.
  4. API Development and Integration: Familiarity with developing, consuming, and integrating APIs (REST, SOAP) to connect different systems and platforms.
  5. Networking: Proficiency in networking concepts, protocols, and technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and VPN to support integration across distributed systems.

System Design and Architecture

  1. System Architecture: Ability to design and document the architecture of integrated systems, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and maintainability.
  2. Cloud Integration: Experience with integrating cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with on-premise systems for hybrid solutions.
  3. Data Flow Design: Designing the flow of data between systems, ensuring correct mapping, transformation, and validation between different platforms.
  4. Database Integration: Expertise in integrating databases (SQL, NoSQL) into systems, managing data synchronization, and ensuring data consistency.
  5. Microservices Architecture: Familiarity with microservices architecture to break down complex systems into modular, independently deployable services.

Testing and Debugging

  1. System Testing: Conducting unit, integration, and system tests to ensure all components work together as expected.
  2. Performance Testing: Testing integrated systems for performance, load handling, and response times, and optimizing performance where necessary.
  3. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identifying and resolving integration issues, such as system conflicts, data mismatches, or communication errors.
  4. Automated Testing: Using automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Jenkins, TestNG) to perform regression tests and ensure continued functionality as new integrations occur.

Project Management and Coordination

  1. Project Planning: Defining integration goals, timelines, and deliverables to ensure that integration projects stay on track and meet deadlines.
  2. Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinating with development teams, hardware engineers, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure integration requirements are met.
  3. Documentation: Writing clear and comprehensive technical documentation that details integration processes, data flow, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  4. Vendor Coordination: Working with third-party vendors or partners to ensure that external systems are properly integrated with internal systems.
