Education Needed
- B.Sc. in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrument Engineering.
Years Of Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in:
- Diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
- Work in Power Plant environments, including:
- Gas turbines (Siemens-V94.3, GE 9FA).
- Steam turbines (ALSTOM, Toshiba).
- Boilers (HRSG).
- MSF and RO Desalination plants.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems in Power Plants and Desalination Plants.
- Understand and maintain control loops, field instruments, and control actuators, including calibration and maintenance activities.
- Operate and manage various control systems, such as:
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Cybersecurity systems.
- Firefighting systems.
- Handle practical operations and troubleshooting of control systems, including:
- GE-Speedtronic Mark-VIe.
- Siemens T-3000.
- Toshiba DCS TOSMAP.
- ALSPA-320.
- Yokogawa Centum-VP.
- PLC SIMATIC-S5/S7, Allen Bradley PLC, HIMA PLC.
- Firefighting and detection systems (e.g., Minimax, Kidde, Shield, Advance Control Equipment).
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental protection standards, and quality management systems.
- Supervise and report on instrumentation and control maintenance tasks.
- Engage in technical and business correspondence effectively.
- Electrical Safety Standards: Deep understanding of electrical safety standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
- Risk Assessment: Ability to conduct risk assessments and ensure the safe operation of electrical systems by identifying hazards and mitigating risks (e.g., electrical shocks, arc flash hazards).
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IEEE, and environmental regulations regarding energy use and waste disposal.
- Electrical Code Compliance: Ensuring that electrical designs and installations comply with local, national, and international codes and regulations.
Desired candidate profile
1. Technical Knowledge
- Electrical Circuit Design: Expertise in designing electrical circuits, systems, and components for various applications, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and cost standards.
- Power Systems: Strong understanding of electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems, including transformers, switchgear, substations, and circuit breakers.
- Signal Processing: Knowledge of signal processing techniques for working with analog and digital signals, including filters, amplifiers, and oscillators.
- Control Systems: Familiarity with control systems and automation technologies, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Microelectronics: Expertise in designing and working with microelectronic components, such as integrated circuits (ICs), transistors, and sensors.
- Renewable Energy: Understanding of renewable energy systems, such as solar power, wind energy, battery storage, and smart grid technologies.
2. Software Proficiency
- Circuit Simulation Software: Expertise in software tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or PSpice for simulating electrical circuits and systems.
- CAD Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or EPLAN for creating electrical schematics, layouts, and system diagrams.
- Electrical Design Software: Familiarity with software like ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or SKM Power Tools for power system analysis, load flow analysis, and fault studies.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Competency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting, data analysis, documentation, and presentations.
