- Space Planning: Expertise in organizing space efficiently, considering how furniture, lighting, and other elements interact within the environment.
- Color Theory: Understanding of color psychology and the ability to combine colors effectively to create the desired atmosphere and mood in a space.
2. Technical Proficiency
- Design Software: Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite to create floor plans, 3D models, and presentations.
- Technical Drawings: Creating detailed floor plans, elevations, and construction drawings to communicate design ideas to clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lighting and Materials: Knowledge of how lighting and materials can impact the look, feel, and functionality of a space, including sustainable options.
3. Project Management
- Budget Management: Managing the budget for interior design projects, sourcing materials, and ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Scheduling: Organizing the design process timeline, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure deadlines are met.
- Vendor Coordination: Managing relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other professionals to source materials and oversee the execution of designs.

- Space Utilization: Solving challenges related to the use of limited or irregular spaces, finding creative ways to maximize functionality.

- Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding how cultural preferences influence design choices, particularly in international or diverse markets.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Interior Designer will be responsible for providing design services to help customers choose materials and furnishings and ensuring that budget, schedule and client expectations are met from time of project inception to owner occupancy
ROLE PROFILE
- Determine the client’s goals and requirements of the project
- Prepare final plans, using computer applications
- Place orders for materials and oversee installing the design elements
- Responsible for cultivating and marketing to new clients and maintaining existing client relationships
- Ensure awareness and understanding of product range knowledge, sharing the information with customers to encourage sales.
- Consistently achieve or exceed individual sales goals, while enhancing and developing the business.
- Set costs and project fees according to budget
- Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of experience in similar field
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs
- Communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor degree in Interior Design or similar.
