Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project plans for MEP systems including timelines budgets and resource allocation.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil structural etc.) to integrate MEP systems into overall project designs.
Review and analyze engineering designs specifications and technical drawings for MEP systems to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Provide technical support during the design phase including proposing modifications or solutions to technical challenges.
Supervise the installation and commissioning of MEP systems onsite ensuring that work is completed safely on time and within budget.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during construction and installation.
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Review and approve technical documentation and drawings submitted by contractors.
Manage contractor performance ensuring that work meets quality and safety standards.
Ensure that all MEP systems comply with local and international standards regulations and codes (e.g. ASME API NEC).
Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Monitor project budgets and costs related to MEP systems identifying any variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Prepare and submit regular cost reports to project managers.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure that all MEP activities are carried out in compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
Participate in safety audits risk assessments and incident investigations related to MEP systems.
Maintain detailed records of project progress including site reports asbuilt drawings and change orders.
Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders highlighting key milestones and any issues.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Civil Engineering or a related field.
Masters degree in Engineering or Project Management.
Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Experience with largescale oil and gas projects including offshore and onshore facilities.
Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP engineering within the oil and gas industry.
Additional Information :
Strong knowledge of MEP systems including HVAC piping electrical systems fire protection and plumbing.
Proficiency in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit HVAC design tools).
Understanding of relevant standards and codes (e.g. ASME API NEC NFPA).
Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with team members contractors and clients.
Experience with HSE regulations and a commitment to safety.
May involve working in harsh or remote environments with exposure to hazardous materials or extreme weather conditions.
Will require frequent site visits and the ability to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
