Process Design and Development
- Design and develop process systems for manufacturing and production lines, including the layout of equipment, piping, and control systems.
- Create detailed flow diagrams (e.g., PFDs and P&IDs), process simulations, and mass balance calculations to define how processes will operate efficiently and safely.
- Design process control systems, specifying the instrumentation and control systems necessary for monitoring and automating the process.

Process Optimization
- Continuously analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Implement changes to optimize production time, reduce waste, improve energy consumption, and enhance overall productivity.
- Use process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, Simulink) to model and optimize process flows and predict the behavior of systems under various conditions.

Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that all designs adhere to industry safety standards, regulations, and environmental laws (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO).
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA) to identify potential safety issues and mitigate risks in the process design.
- Develop and integrate safety protocols, emergency shutdown systems, and fail-safes into process designs to protect workers and equipment.

Material and Energy Flow Management
- Design processes that efficiently manage the flow of materials, energy, and waste products.
- Specify equipment (e.g., reactors, separators, heat exchangers) that best fits the needs of the process and ensures the efficient use of resources.
- Optimize the energy consumption of processes, reducing costs and minimizing environmental impact through sustainable practices.

Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineers, to integrate process designs with other systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project goals and ensure process designs align with business needs and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure that the selected equipment and materials are suitable for the process.

Documentation and Reporting
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for process designs, including specifications, flow charts, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and equipment lists.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, detailing the process design, performance analysis, cost estimations, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for clients, regulators, and management.

Prototyping and Testing
- Develop pilot projects or prototypes to test new process designs or modifications before full-scale implementation.
- Conduct trials, collect data, and analyze results to evaluate the efficiency and feasibility of new processes.
- Implement improvements or adjustments based on test results to optimize the final design.
- Estimate the cost of process systems, including equipment, materials, and labor, to create cost-effective solutions.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring that the process design can be implemented within financial and resource constraints.
- Monitor the procurement and installation of equipment to ensure that it meets the design specifications and quality standards.

We are currently looking for Process Designer to be based in Abu Dhabi location.
Main Purpose Of Role
Key Designer Role within the business to lead discipline designing performance on projects & to provide expert technical design leadership and design assurance on projects as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma of Engineering (Preferable)
Essential
Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
- 7 -12 years of Oil & Gas Design Experience.
Advantage
- Previous experience in Region
Technical Knowledge And Skills (Discipline Specific)
- Knowledge of basic engineering processes
- Familiarity with international codes, standards and engineering practices
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD applications
- Familiarity with PFDs and P&ID
- Familiarity with HSE Layouts, Fire Fighting Layouts
