Desired candidate profile
-
Design and Analysis of Static Equipment
- Lead the design and analysis of static equipment, ensuring they are structurally sound, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
- Perform detailed stress analysis using software tools (e.g., CAESAR II, ANSYS, STAAD.Pro) to evaluate the performance of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and other equipment.
- Select appropriate materials and design methods based on load conditions, operating environments, and safety considerations.
-
Compliance with Codes and Standards
- Ensure designs adhere to relevant codes and standards, such as ASME (e.g., ASME BPVC for pressure vessels), API (e.g., API 650 for storage tanks), and ISO standards.
- Stay updated on changes in codes and regulations to ensure all equipment designs are compliant with the latest requirements.
- Conduct safety and risk assessments to identify potential hazards related to static equipment.
-
Maintenance and Inspection
- Oversee the inspection, testing, and maintenance programs for static equipment to ensure operational integrity.
- Provide technical guidance on regular maintenance and repairs to ensure the longevity and safe operation of equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures and propose corrective actions.
-
Project Management and Leadership
- Manage static engineering projects, from concept through design, installation, and commissioning, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance on design approaches, technical challenges, and best practices.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and reports produced by other team members.
-
Stress and Fatigue Analysis
- Conduct advanced stress and fatigue analyses for static equipment subjected to high pressures, thermal cycles, and mechanical loads.
- Use finite element analysis (FEA) and other engineering tools to simulate operating conditions and ensure equipment will withstand stress over time.
- Evaluate the effects of corrosion, wear, and other environmental factors on the structural integrity of equipment.
-
Technical Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and review detailed technical documentation, including design reports, calculations, material specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure that all engineering drawings and documents are accurate, complete, and comply with company and regulatory requirements.
