Customer Service:
- Greeting and Seating Customers: Welcome customers upon arrival, guide them to their seats, and ensure they are comfortable.
- Taking Orders: Help servers by taking food and drink orders from guests, relaying them accurately to the kitchen or bar staff.
- Delivering Food and Drinks: Serve food and drinks promptly to customers, ensuring accuracy and presentation according to the restaurant's standards.
- Assisting with Menu Knowledge: Help customers with menu selections, answering questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary restrictions.
- Handling Requests: Respond to customer inquiries or requests, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the dining experience.

Setting Up and Cleaning:
- Setting Tables: Prepare and set tables for guests, including arranging cutlery, glassware, napkins, and condiments, ensuring everything is clean and neatly presented.
- Cleaning and Resetting Tables: After customers leave, clear and clean tables promptly, reset them for the next guests, and maintain a clean dining area.
- Assisting with Floor Cleaning: Help with maintaining cleanliness in public areas by sweeping, mopping, or wiping surfaces as necessary.

Supporting the Food and Beverage Team:
- Assisting with Food Preparation: Depending on the venue, assist kitchen or bar staff with tasks like preparing garnishes, refilling stations, or stocking supplies.
- Refilling Stock: Keep track of beverage supplies (like water or condiments) and ensure they are replenished as needed throughout service.
- Serving and Clearing Plates: Assist servers by delivering orders to customers and clearing plates and drink glasses after guests finish.

Handling Payments:
- Processing Transactions: In some settings, food and beverage assistants may assist with processing payments, handling cash or credit card transactions, and ensuring accuracy in charges.
- Operating POS Systems: Help with operating point-of-sale (POS) systems for order-taking, billing, and cash handling when needed.

Monitoring Customer Needs:
- Ensuring Customer Satisfaction: Check on guests periodically to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and service. Address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Promoting Menu Items: Suggest daily specials, new items, or promotions to customers to enhance their dining experience.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene:
- Food Safety Standards: Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines, including proper handling of food, cleanliness, and storage.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that the dining area is safe for customers and staff, reporting any hazards or issues immediately.

Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Supporting Other Staff: Work as part of a team, assisting other food and beverage staff (servers, bartenders, chefs) to ensure the operation runs smoothly.
- Communication: Keep in constant communication with other staff to coordinate the flow of service and ensure that customers' needs are met efficiently.
Desired candidate profile
As a Food and Beverage Intern at Atlantis The Royal, you will provide the highest level of service to our external and internal guests. You will coordinate with team members to support day to day activities while assisting the team with administration tasks when required. You will also be working closely with both kitchen and service team, making sure that sanitation and safety standards are always followed and maintained. It is also essential that you have full knowledge of the food menu and ensure that orders are delivered in a timely and safe manner.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a hospitality student interested in gaining practical knowledge in the food and beverage industry. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be a team player, manage multiple tasks and have confidence in dealing with a diverse set of clienteles
