Roles and responsibilities
The Electromechanical Engineer will be responsible for electrical design, implementing, optimization and maitnenance of electrical systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles for machine and equipment , problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
The Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance work on mechanical and electronic systems, including inspections, cleanings and lubrications
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in manufacturing systems.
- Support in training of new employees in using new automation technologies
- Preparation of technical documentation, operating instructions and training material
- Design and optimization of automation solutions for production using PLC controllers, robotics, industrial image processing, drive technology, testing technology, safety technology and other automation technologies
- Programming and commissioning of PLC controllers, safety controllers and HMI systems
- Integration of robotic systems and other automated components into existing production processe
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and reliable production operations
- Functional tests and performance tests on automation systems, troubleshooting and optimization of control programs
- Implement and improve electrical safety standards and protocols.
- Analyze and optimize electrical systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and reports
- Creation of machine safety concepts and machine data concepts
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering.
- Introduction of Industry 4.0 technologies (such as 3D printing, AMR, predictive maintenance, simulation, ...)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. (greenfield and industrialisation is advantageous)
- 3-5 years experience in a similar position
Desired candidate profile
- Comfortable with CAD/CAE, MS-Office, LEAN and standardizes work (CI-tools knowledge)
- Solid knowledge of various interfaces such as OPC-OA, MQTT and REST API
- Experience with PLC Controllers
- Extensive experience with Industry 4.0 technologies
- Digitalisation and automation project management experience would be a plus.
- Familiarity with network protocols like TCP/IP and UDP as well as network topologies
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards, experience in industrial automation
- Accountable, motivated, engaged, proactive, teamwork and attention to detail,
- communication and Presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Fluent in written and oral English (German would be a plus)
- This role will require traveling (up to 50%)
