Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • You’ll have a complete knowledge of all food & beverage menus / wine lists and other food and beverage products in details and be able to advise guests accordingly.
  • You’ll control and orchestrate the service of In Room Dining and maximise customer satisfaction through anticipating guest requests, responding to special requests positively.
  • You’ll make sure that our guests aren’t just well-fed, but also happy and contented.
  • You’ll make sure the accounts are correct and admin processes run smoothly.
  • You’ll help to draw up budgets, and keep a business-like eye on orders .
  • You are a competent and open-minded contact and sparring partner for our external concept partner.
  • You’ll support your colleagues with a winning smile whenever, once again, all the guests pile into the restaurant and want to order at the same time. On top of this, you’ll also keep your head above water when there are sudden changes of plan .

Qualifications

  • You’ve gained management experience in a similar role, and can speak English fluently
  • You can inspire your fellow staff just as you can inspire your guests. On top of this you find it easy to communicate with charm, even if it’s sometimes tricky

  • You’re a doer – and even if you do it wrong sometimes, you openly admit it

Desired candidate profile

  • Taking Orders and Serving Food & Beverages

    • Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcoming guests, helping them find their seats, and providing them with menus.
    • Taking Food and Beverage Orders: Listening to customers’ orders, asking clarifying questions (e.g., dietary restrictions, special preferences), and accurately recording them.
    • Serving Food and Drinks: Delivering food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to the correct table, ensuring the correct order and presentation.
    • Upselling: Recommending food and beverage specials or upgrades, such as wine pairings, dessert options, or additional items, to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Customer Service

    • Providing Excellent Customer Service: Ensuring that guests feel welcome and attended to throughout their meal. This includes checking on them periodically, refilling drinks, and addressing any concerns or requests.
    • Handling Special Requests: Accommodating guests' dietary preferences or special requests, such as vegan, gluten-free, or low-sodium options.
    • Problem Resolution: Addressing customer complaints or issues professionally and promptly, ensuring a positive resolution.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization

    • Setting Up Tables: Preparing tables before guests arrive, including placing clean plates, utensils, napkins, and glassware, and ensuring the dining area is neat and welcoming.
    • Clearing Tables: Clearing used plates, utensils, and glassware promptly after guests have finished eating to ensure a clean and organized dining area.
    • Cleaning Work Areas: Wiping down tables, chairs, and service stations to maintain cleanliness between guests.
  • Payment Processing

    • Presenting Bills: After the meal, presenting the check to the customer and answering any questions about charges or menu items.
    • Processing Payments: Accepting and processing payments, whether by cash, credit card, or digital payment methods.
    • Handling Tips: Following the restaurant’s tipping system, whether tips are kept individually or pooled with other servers.
