Roles and responsibilities
- To provide quality food and beverage service that is consistent with the Hotel SOP at all times.
- Provides a link between kitchen and service areas.
- Provides table and or counter service of all menu items.
- Provides table and or counter service of alcoholic / non-alcoholic beverages.
- Updates food and beverage knowledge required to carry out duties.
- Provides advice on food and beverage to guests.
- Receives and stores food and beverage adhering to all food hygiene regulations and procedures.
- Consistently monitors quality of food and beverage being served, and report to the supervisor or assistant outlet manager.
- Actively uses up-selling techniques to exceed guests' expectations and increase revenue.
- May be assigned to perform inventory in the restaurant whenever required.

- Taking Customer Orders: Greet guests, listen attentively to their orders, and record their food and beverage requests accurately.

- Serving Food and Drinks: Delivering food and beverages to the appropriate table in a timely manner, ensuring that each guest receives the correct order and that their dining experience is enjoyable.
- Ensuring Presentation: Making sure food and beverages are presented in an appealing manner, in line with the restaurant's standards.

- Providing Excellent Service: Ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience by being attentive, friendly, and accommodating to their needs.
- Handling Special Requests: Taking note of dietary restrictions or preferences (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free) and ensuring that the kitchen can accommodate these needs.
- Addressing Complaints: Listening to guest concerns or complaints and resolving issues promptly, involving a manager if necessary to ensure satisfaction.

Processing Orders and Payments
- Order Entry: Inputting customer orders into the restaurant’s point-of-sale (POS) system to communicate with the kitchen and bar.
- Managing Bills: Presenting checks to guests, processing payments (cash, credit card, digital payments), and providing change as needed.
- Handling Tips: Following the restaurant's policies on how tips are handled, whether it's through direct tipping or pooling systems.

Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization
- Setting and Clearing Tables: Setting tables with proper silverware, glassware, and condiments before guests arrive, and clearing the table after guests have finished dining.
- Cleaning the Dining Area: Keeping the restaurant area clean, wiping down tables, chairs, and booths, and maintaining a tidy environment throughout the shift.
- Stocking Supplies: Ensuring that the service stations are stocked with necessary items such as napkins, condiments, and utensils, and restocking them when needed.

Collaboration with Kitchen and Bar Staff
- Communication with Kitchen: Relaying orders to the kitchen and ensuring that special requests are accurately communicated.
- Cooperation with Bartenders: Communicating beverage orders to the bar, ensuring timely delivery of drinks to the table, and assisting with restocking bar supplies if necessary.
