Roles and responsibilities
- Prepare and post financial accounting entries, recharges, reports and other relevant reconciliations on a periodic basis and assist with month-ends;
- Assist in coordination and preparation of various returns, including financial statements and tax returns, for a number of legal entities, under the supervision and guidance;
- Preparation of statutory compliance returns, including ICV and Local Content certifications;
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly VAT and WHT returns for assigned statutory entities;
- Preparation of periodical reports and reconciliations to be submitted to the business;
- Supporting the Finance team on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis;
- Ensuring compliance with Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
- Assisting the wider Finance team with internal and external audits;
- Develop strong working relationships with team members and other key stakeholders;
- Seek opportunities to learn new skills and aspire to develop within the team.
Technical Competencies
Essential
- A recognised degree in finance, accounting or related subjects;
- 0-2 years’ experience within a finance/accounting environment;
- Competent accountant with good understanding of double entry and best practices;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Excellent communication in English (both written and oral).
- Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment;
- Ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
Desirable
- Some Big 4 experience as an assistant/associate or above (PwC/EY/KPMG/Deloitte);
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Finance Management (HFM), Smart View or other information systems and databases;
