Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for creating and managing the demand planning process within the FMCG distribution industry for food products. They will work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure that demand forecasting is accurate and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the demand planning process for food products within the FMCG distribution industry Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and input necessary for forecasting.
  • Use statistical models and forecasting tools to generate accurate demand plans.
  • Analyze and review historical sales data to identify trends and adjust forecasts accordingly.
  • Review and adjust forecasted demand plans based on changes in market conditions or business strategy Monitor inventory levels and track product availability to ensure that supply meets demand.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPl’s} to measure the accuracy and effectiveness of the demand planning process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
  • Lead regular meetings to review demand forecasts and adjust as needed.
  • Provide input and guidance to sales and marketing teams to support demand generation and promotional activities.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of Demand Planning experience within FMCG industry.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Experience in similar industry with end-to-end supply chain understanding.
  • APICS or other forecasting certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP and forecasting systems and other software packages including Microsoft Excel and Office.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices, including S&OP, inventory optimization and demand planning.
