Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The Associate Project Engineer is key role directly reporting to Senior Project Manager for Install Business. You will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be a part of growing team and will be responsible for driving the growth of business for Building Technology and Solutions with focus on Energy Solutions in GCC.

You will be supporting the project management team on designing and execution of projects. As a member of this team, you will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to support the team with the pre-sales/estimation for energy solution.

How You Will Do It

You will be responsible for validating assumptions made during solution design, build energy savings estimates, cost estimates and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with operations. You will be also responsible for providing technical risk analysis for the complete solution. You will be part of transition meetings with Operations team to ensure project scope, objectives, timeline and customer requirements are taken care in proper manner.

As a Project Development Engineer, you may need to perform on-site data collection at customer facilities and support post-contract design review. You will be also focused on developing multiple components for the bundled sale of energy solution. You will be using strong customer relationship skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (suppliers and vendors).

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering or similar
  • 0-1 year experience / Intern experience in similar background
  • Result orientated, tenacious, self-motivated, a customer focused approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in business analysis
  • Excellent inter-personal skills - must be able to adapt working style to the personalities and work styles of our stakeholders and internal partners
  • Fluency in English language is essential.
  • Good analytical skills

1. Project Management Skills

  • Project Planning: Assisting in the creation of project plans, schedules, and timelines to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
  • Budget Management: Helping to track project budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring that projects remain cost-effective.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinating the allocation of resources (personnel, equipment, materials) to ensure project requirements are met efficiently.
  • Task Coordination: Managing and organizing daily tasks, ensuring that teams are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.

2. Engineering Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of engineering principles and the specific engineering discipline related to the project (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical, software).
  • Design and Analysis: Assisting with design specifications, drawings, and analyses to ensure the project meets technical requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during the course of the project, working with senior engineers to find solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring that engineering deliverables meet the required quality standards, performing tests and checks where needed.

3. Communication Skills

  • Clear Communication: Effectively communicating project updates, progress, and technical information with team members, senior engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including design, construction, or software teams, to coordinate project deliverables.
  • Reporting: Assisting in the creation of reports and documentation that track project progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Client Interaction: Supporting senior project engineers in client meetings, providing technical insights, and helping to address any concerns or issues.

4. Time Management

  • Prioritization: Managing multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring that all project activities are completed within the agreed timeframes.
  • Time Tracking: Monitoring time spent on various tasks and ensuring that project timelines are adhered to without sacrificing quality.
  • Deadline Management: Ensuring that the project progresses according to plan, adjusting schedules and resources when necessary to meet deadlines.
