Key Responsibilities of a Plant Coordinator
1. Operations Coordination
- Scheduling and Planning: Plan and coordinate the daily production schedule based on customer orders, inventory levels, and equipment availability. Ensure that resources (personnel, materials, and equipment) are allocated effectively to meet production targets.
- Process Optimization: Work with plant managers and supervisors to improve production processes, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
- Resource Management: Ensure the plant is adequately staffed, and the necessary equipment and materials are available to meet production demands.
2. Quality Control and Compliance
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control department to ensure that products meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor production processes for compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with environmental, safety, and health regulations. This includes overseeing the proper disposal of waste, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials, and conducting safety audits.
- Inspection and Reporting: Participate in plant inspections and audits, and report on findings, including issues related to safety, quality, and efficiency.
3. Maintenance and Equipment Management
- Maintenance Scheduling: Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure all equipment is operating efficiently. Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and equipment upkeep.
- Troubleshooting: Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to machinery or equipment malfunctions. Escalate serious issues to the appropriate department or plant manager for resolution.
4. Team and Staff Coordination
- Staff Supervision: Oversee plant staff, including operators, technicians, and other employees. Provide guidance, allocate tasks, and ensure staff adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Training and Development: Coordinate training programs for plant staff on safety, equipment operation, and process improvement initiatives to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
- Performance Monitoring: Track employee performance and productivity, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management. Address any issues related to staff performance or conduct.
5. Inventory and Supply Chain Management
- Materials Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods. Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure adequate stock and avoid production delays due to material shortages.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and dispatch of finished products. Address any issues related to supply chain disruptions or delays.
6. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure that safety procedures are followed in all areas of the plant. Conduct safety meetings and enforce safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Environmental Sustainability: Work to ensure that plant operations are environmentally sustainable, focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and minimizing environmental impact.

- In-depth understanding of workplace safety, environmental regulations, and compliance standards in the manufacturing industry.

- Proficiency in plant management software, production planning tools, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ERP systems).

Financial Awareness
- Understanding of plant budgets, cost control, and financial reporting to help maintain operational efficiency within budgetary constraints.
- Coordination works of Plant and Logistics –daily allocations of equipment, plants, driver and operators to the project.
- Coordination of mobilization and demobilization.
- Daily updating plant itens working /standby/breakdown/&Manually prepare list of the operators on standby.
- Preparing updating daily /weekly and monthly summaries on MS Excel and ERP (Build Smart).
Requirements
- Preferably graduate in any discipline
- 5 years of experience in logistics or site office environment.
