Roles and responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Management
- Develop Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with business goals, ensuring cost-effective operations, high levels of customer satisfaction, and efficient use of resources.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve the performance of the logistics network, identifying opportunities for optimization in transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
- Forecasting and Demand Planning: Work closely with other departments (such as Sales, Procurement, and Operations) to forecast demand, plan resources, and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain.
2. Operational Oversight
- Supply Chain Coordination: Oversee and manage day-to-day logistics operations, including the procurement of raw materials, inventory control, warehousing, and transportation of finished goods.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), negotiating contracts and terms to optimize cost, delivery schedules, and service levels.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to balance the need for stock availability with the cost of carrying inventory. This may involve managing stock turnover, warehouse space, and distribution planning.
3. Team Leadership and Staff Management
- Lead and Manage Team: Supervise and mentor a team of logistics professionals, including warehouse managers, transportation coordinators, and logistics analysts. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure that the logistics team is adequately staffed and resourced, balancing workloads and ensuring that each team member has clear responsibilities and goals.
- Performance Management: Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics team performance, regularly assess staff performance, and provide constructive feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency.
4. Cost Control and Budget Management
- Budget Planning and Management: Develop and manage the logistics department’s budget, ensuring that operational costs (such as transportation, warehousing, and inventory) are kept within budgetary constraints.
- Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify cost-saving opportunities in logistics operations and implement process improvements or technology solutions that help lower costs without compromising service quality.
- Negotiations with Vendors: Lead contract negotiations with logistics service providers to secure favorable terms and ensure cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution services.
5. Risk Management and Compliance
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all logistics operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., customs regulations, health and safety standards, environmental laws).
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify risks to the supply chain (e.g., supply shortages, transportation delays, or market disruptions) and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
- Sustainability: Develop and promote sustainability initiatives within logistics operations, such as reducing the carbon footprint of transportation, minimizing waste in packaging, and improving resource efficiency.
6. Technology and Data Utilization
- Implement Logistics Technologies: Oversee the implementation of advanced logistics technologies, such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, to optimize logistics operations and improve accuracy.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Use data analytics to monitor logistics performance, track KPIs (e.g., delivery times, transportation costs, order accuracy), and generate reports for senior management. Make data-driven decisions to enhance supply chain efficiency.

Role Requirements
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering or construction Management, or related field.
- Must have worked in construction projects and managed the lifting operations.
