Roles and responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules for a mix of infrastructure developments, including new road and highway construction, improvements to existing highways, and building projects.
- Review and evaluate baseline programmes submitted by contractors and consultants, ensuring alignment with Employer’s requirements and project objectives.
- Assess contractor and consultant programmes for feasibility, accuracy, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Manage the planning aspects of design and build contracts, ensuring design activities follow the correct sequence.
- Conduct risk assessments, identifying potential project delays and mitigation strategies.
- Perform Extension of Time (EoT) assessments using various techniques such as Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Window Analysis, and As-Planned vs. As-Built methods.
- Handle contractor claims and counterclaims from the employer, providing expert input into negotiations and resolutions.
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and government authorities to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to track progress and support accurate forecasting of cash flows.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management, including insights on progress, claims, EoT assessments, and recommendations.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with not less than 10 years experience in Abu Dhabi.
- Extensive knowledge of Abu Dhabi authorities’ processes and government requirements for infrastructure projects.
- Experience reviewing and assessing baseline programmes and contractor submissions for compliance with contract requirements.
- Strong understanding of Extension of Time assessments and related techniques (TIA, Window Analysis, etc.).
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6.
- Expertise in handling contractor claims and counterclaims from the employer.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience working with government entities and stakeholders.
