The Senior Principal Production Engineer is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the Management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Production Engineer is considered a specialist in the field of Production, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Fabrication Function. The Senior Principal Production Engineer impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Production Engineer role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Production challenges.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and ensure efficient and cost-effective project execution
- Lead and oversee a team of production engineers, provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to identify potential bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks within production processes, and develop mitigation plans
- Collaborate closely with Cross-functional Teams, including Project Management, Operations, and Design Engineering, to drive effective communication and alignment on project goals
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality control procedures
- Evaluate and select appropriate equipment, tools, and technologies to enhance production capabilities, while considering budgetary constraints
- Identify and implement innovative solutions that improve overall operational effectiveness, safety, and cost efficiency
- Stay up to date with emerging industry trends, advancements, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and industry stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships, and ensure effective communication and alignment of project objectives
- Conduct training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities and elevate technical competencies.
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering), with a master's degree considered an advantage
- Minimum of eight-ten (8-10) years of progressive experience in Production Engineering within the EPCI industry, with a focus on major infrastructure projects
- Strong technical expertise and profound knowledge of Production Engineering principles, methodologies, and industry standards
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing Cross-functional Teams, fostering collaborative and inclusive work environments
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate operational bottlenecks, propose practical solutions, and drive effective implementation
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels
- Innovative mindset and ability to think outside the box to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization
- Familiarity with industry software and tools, including production optimization software, data analysis tools, and project management systems.
