Legal Researcher is the client's'/business units first point-of-contact, especially on scheduling appointments and responding to legal services inquiries, concerns. They assist and implement all instructions issued by the direct supervisor in relation to his/her work tasks to deliver high quality and professional level of performance of legal services.
Key Accountabilities
• Prepare draft legal opinions in response to queries raised, following general instructions given by supervisor
• Perform preliminary review of the legal aspects of proposals contracts, draft agreements, correspondence, and other texts and provide appropriate comments to the corresponding supervisor
• Draft or assist in the drafting of legal documents for the final review of a supervisor
Requirements:
Conducting Research: Perform thorough legal research on statutes, case law, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to ongoing cases.
Analyzing Information: Analyze legal documents and findings to provide insights and support for legal arguments or strategies.
Drafting Reports: Prepare clear and concise research memoranda and reports summarizing findings for attorneys and legal teams.
Updating Legal Resources: Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations, updating legal databases and resources accordingly.
Assisting with Case Preparation: Support attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and legal proceedings by providing relevant research and documentation.
Reviewing Legal Documents: Assist in reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to identify key issues or points of concern.
Collaborating with Legal Teams: Work closely with lawyers and paralegals to understand their research needs and provide timely support.
Maintaining Records: Keep accurate records of research conducted, sources used, and findings reported.
Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing education to stay updated on legal trends, case law, and research methodologies.
Providing Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks related to case management and legal documentation as needed.
Research Skills: Proficiency in conducting detailed legal research using various databases, legal texts, and online resources.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex legal information and cases.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents and findings.
Writing Skills: Excellent written communication skills for drafting research memos, reports, and summaries.
Legal Knowledge: Understanding of legal terminology, principles, and procedures relevant to the specific area of law.
