Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Assistant Manager – Telecommunications in Madinat Jumeirah Resort Functions. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional support and service to hotel guests, ensuring their needs and requests are promptly addressed to enhance their overall experience. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provide guests with information about hotel amenities, services, local attractions, and directions, addressing any inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Assist guests with booking reservations, arranging transportation, and organizing special requests or activities to enhance their stay.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues to the appropriate department if necessary.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are clean, well-maintained, and ready for occupancy.
  • Serve as a liaison between guests and various hotel departments to facilitate communication and ensure guest needs are met efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest requests, preferences, and feedback to provide personalized service and improve guest satisfaction.
  • Assist guests with billing inquiries, processing payments, and provide receipts, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all transactions.
  • Support the coordination and execution of guest events, meetings, and special occasions, ensuring all arrangements meet guest expectations.
  • Monitor the lobby area, report any suspicious activities, and ensure the safety and security of guests and hotel property at all times.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • UAE National as per government requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role
  • Effective communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Must have leadership and team management skills
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills

Desired candidate profile

  1. Operational Support: Assisting the manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the telecommunications department, ensuring all systems are functioning smoothly.

  2. Team Management: Supervising and training staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance and customer service.

  3. System Maintenance: Monitoring telecommunications systems, identifying issues, and coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.

  4. Project Coordination: Assisting in the planning and execution of telecommunications projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  5. Customer Support: Addressing customer inquiries and issues related to telecommunications services, providing solutions and support.

  6. Vendor Management: Collaborating with external vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure the best service and pricing.

  7. Reporting and Analysis: Preparing reports on telecommunications performance, usage, and costs to help inform strategic decisions.

  8. Budget Management: Assisting in budget planning and monitoring expenses to ensure financial goals are met.

  9. Compliance and Standards: Ensuring that all telecommunications activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, as well as internal policies.

  10. Technology Evaluation: Staying informed about new telecommunications technologies and trends, recommending upgrades or changes as necessary.
