Roles and responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic Finance Operations:
- Work closely with Dubai Holding’s Shared Services team and review all deliverables as “owner” and achieve signoffs from the Business. These reviews include but are not limited to Financial Statements (standalone & consolidated), detailed monthly Management Reporting, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Treasury Operations, Working Capital positions, and overall Finance and Accounting Operations on a regular basis.
- Provide strategic leadership in managing and optimizing all finance operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely and accurate contractor payments, and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Strategically oversee billing, collections, and reconciliation processes to ensure timely revenue recognition and minimize outstanding receivables.
- Ensure robust escrow management practices to comply with UAE regulatory requirements, safeguard project funds and maintaining investor confidence.
- Manage and coordinate with joint venture partners, ensuring alignment of financial goals, transparent reporting, and effective governance of shared investments.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Lead the development of comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts that align with DHI’s strategic objectives and long-term growth plans in the Real Estate and Hospitality sectors.
- Conduct detailed financial scenario analysis to evaluate potential risks and opportunities, guiding strategic decision-making and enhancing financial resilience.
- Establish KPIs and financial metrics to monitor performance against strategic goals, providing actionable insights to leadership for continuous improvement and value creation.
- Act as a key financial advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions and drive organizational success
Advanced Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and Management reports, Strategic dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with UAE and international accounting standards.
- Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues related to Real Estate (development, construction, leasing) and Hospitality operations, including impairments, consolidations, joint venture accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Develop and deliver high-impact financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, offering strategic insights and recommendations for business optimization and growth.
Treasury & Strategic Capital Management
- Strategically manage cash flows, ensuring liquidity and funding availability for ongoing and future investments, while optimizing working capital.
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of shareholder capital calls, aligning financing strategies with investment objectives and ensuring optimal capital structure.
- Ensure robust compliance with treasury policies, including escrow management, cash forecasting, and liquidity planning, to mitigate financial risks and support sustainable growth.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance Strategy:
- Oversee comprehensive tax and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), as well as international tax requirements for foreign investments in jurisdictions such as KSA, Singapore, and Vietnam.
- Develop and implement tax optimization strategies to minimize tax liabilities, while ensuring full compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring proactive compliance and staying ahead of emerging regulatory changes that may impact DHI’s operations.
Who we are looking for:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience with a minimum of:
- 5 years in senior management roles in the industry that require problem solving and decision making; and
- 2 years’ experience of working in, or auditing, recognized multi-national companies
- The candidate should have experience of heading/supervising all areas of financial control in a UAE Real Estate environment.
Desired candidate profile
- Proficiency in corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting with a strategic focus.
- Expertise in formulating and implementing long-term and short-term financial strategies.
- Advanced skills in developing and maintaining financial models for strategy formulation, planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and principles, particularly related to revenue recognition.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE and international tax regulations, with the ability to navigate and ensure compliance with complex regulatory environments.
- Ability to liaise with auditors, government authorities, financial services providers, and other external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including JV partners, regulatory authorities, and executive leadership.
